But...but...why?

But...but...why?

But...but...why?

Studio Eduardo Aires is easily recognised as one of the best Portuguese design studios. I'm not recognised as one of the best motion designers even when I'm alone with my two cats. Think about it... but doesn't waste too much time on that.

I got a call from Studio Eduardo Aires and I only didn't thought it was a prank call because, obviously, they would have many other important things to do. So, I put my ass in motion (uh...see what I did here...) and went to their studio to have a nice chat about the project. It turned out to be a really nice process and relationship.

They had all the art direction and rebranding figured out and my main role was to put the company's mood and attitude as clear as possible into a short motion video. For that, I had to go deep into the brand guideline and one hundred and fifty years history, re-arrange some design materials and adapt them to the animated video. Photography was, since the beginning, a must-have because it's impossible to step away from the human touch when talking about Amorim and the cork industry. It was also important to show the wide variety of materials and the extent of the whole re-branding, this was shown in the video using not only a vector approach but also with a few digital mockups and other solutions. The music always play a very important role in videos and we didn't want to underestimate it. I called André Aires (A Clarabóia) to work on an original music composition and sound design. The final result was quite impressive and both, music and animation, work as a single and unique piece.
