Women Artists

Art Exhibition · Mini-doc Series

Brighter Films, a really nice duo of film directors, emailed me asking if I wanted to be part of a truly interesting project: designing and animating a mini-doc series for a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation's art exhibition called "Women Artists". This huge exhibition wanted to highlight the women that are part of Portuguese art history and legacy.

I designed the whole series and then animated it but, honestly, the artistic work of these women is so mesmerizing that I didn't need to do much. We started by creating the video of the world-renowned Portuguese artist, Helena Almeida. Since I started studying art history, Helena Almeida works always got my attention so this project was also a good way to remind that. The second video was dedicated to Ana Hatherly, artist and writer, and the third one portrayed the life and works of Lourdes Castro.

Nice people behind all this
